Fewer than ten people
responded to our offer to charter a bus down and back to watch the South
Carolina game in Myrtle Beach. The next suggestion was a car pool to Myrtle
Beach on the day of the game to watch UNC’s action against South Carolina.
Click
here if your car has extra seats. Click
here if you would like to ride in one of those extra seats with a
contribution to trip costs. We will attempt to match available seats with
riders.
Tickets now on Sale!l

TEAM TALK
The Daily Tar Heel
Reviews Last Week
Click
here to read about the Tar Heel’s youth and speed in the first
exhibition game against Francis Marion which the Heels won, 105-64. Click
here for an extensive review of the Carson-Newman win of 121-52 as our
scoreboard above reflects! Great quote from Coach Hatchel about sending two
sets of referees.
Poster Day a real
chance to meet the players!
Coach Hatchell extends her special "thank
you" to all the volunteers that helped the players distribute posters and
schedule cards last Friday. Not only was it a great help to our program,
but the players really enjoyed their time with the fans which included Ann
and Billie Jones, Ed and Sue Weiss, Bill Poteat and Gail McKinley.
Preseason Ranking
The Associated Preseason
Press Poll elected UNC Women’s Basketball team as the 5th best
team in the country on October 30th. On October 26th,
the Blue Ribbon Panel of the ACC
voted our team as their favorite to win the ACC. By the way, Duke
finished second, followed by Florida State and Virginia. Click
here to read more on predictions
for the ACC Women’s Basketball season from
the News and Observer!
Brad Heller Returns!
As we enjoyed two exhibition games, those
of us who frequented Coach Hatchell’s Monday Night radio show last season
were delighted to identify Brad Heller from Learfield Communications of the
Tar Heel Sports Network and “Our Voice of the Tar Heels” at the scorer’s
table. Welcome back, Brad! Come see Brad in action at Coach Hatchell’s
radio show in January!
10 More Singers Needed!
Thanks to the five Tar Heel Team Tempo
members who provided recommendations for singers which we forwarded on!
There are still 10 home games available! Do you know either an individual or
a group who would like to sing our National Anthem prior to one of our home
games? This is an exciting opportunity for UNC Women’s Basketball fans who
are vocally talented! Click
here to request more
information.

Treasurer’s Blog: From
Gary Triplett
Tar Heel Team Tempo’s
Steering Committee has waived dues for the year 2009 in an effort to
increase participation in our new organization. We understand that many of
you are waiting until we obtain tax-deductible status to financially assist
our efforts. The Finance Committee is working as hard as we can to make
that happen, but even securing tax-deductible status for Tar Heel Team Tempo
requires some funding … and some time!
In answer to your
questions about how your donations are utilized, last week we paid $340 for
the buttons and the $75 for the business cards. We need your assistance for
future projects this year and, if you are able to do so, please send your
contribution to:
Tar Heel Team Tempo
11417 Pacesferry Drive
Raleigh, N.C. 27614
Finally, a special thanks
to last week’s donors: Jean Law, Diane McGrath, and Gary and Stella
Triplett.
