From the UNC Women’s Basketball Office
Our
team landed at RDU at 3:30 AM from their successful journey to Las
Vegas. Before noon, Coach Hatchell called to praise Tar Heel Team Tempo
and the Las Vegas Carolina Club for all their efforts to support the
team. In her own words: “We may not have had the largest group of fans
in the coliseum, but we certainly had the loudest! And when I returned,
several supporters told me about the great crowd and good times here in
Chapel Hill at the Time Out viewing party! Thanks to everyone for all
your great energy!”

TEMPO TALK |

|
|
From
our President: Diane McGrath
It is
my pleasure to announce that it was a great night for the first event
for Tar Heel Team Tempo members to gather together to watch an away
game. At least 40 Tar Heel Team Tempo folks ventured out on a rainy
Sunday evening, to gather at Time Out Sports Bar to applaud, and
otherwise cheer and encourage the team during the game.
We
congratulate Jo Yvars, Chair of the Events Committee for Tar Heel Team
Tempo, for all the arrangements. We celebrate her efforts and the
volunteers who helped make this a fun event as we cheered the women on
to victory!

Many
thanks to the folks at Time Out for getting the game on the large screen
TV, the food and beverages, their wonderful service and a truly great
atmosphere to cheer our coaches, our staff, and our team. I don’t know
what the folks at Time Out had to do to get the TV feed, but they made
it possible for us to see the game. Three cheers to all the folks at
Time Out! |

Membership Committee Report: From Bill Poteat
Yes,
those folks with the clipboards interviewing fans at our home games are
Tar Heel Team Tempo volunteers. Talk to one at the next home game,
identify yourself as a THTT member and receive your button and some
business cards.

Give
these cards to your friends who are fans of UNC Women’s Basketball and
ask them to join us in our efforts to better enjoy our home games and to
increase home game attendance. Forward this e‑newsletter to them with
an encouraging note. Tell them about our ultimate objective to fill the
arena for home games in support of our wonderful team. And don’t forget
that by joining Tar Heel Team Tempo, they will have access to fun events
both with other fans and with the UNC Women’s Basketball program.
Please don’t
delay to confirm your membership!
For those of you who joined last year, time is running out to renew your
membership. There are only a few of you left that have not renewed. If
you respond to the email we sent you requesting an update to your info,
you will automatically renew your membership in Tar Heel Team Tempo for
this 2009/2010 season. If you’ve lost the email, just click
here
to email us that you want to renew and update your info if necessary.
Also many of
you receive this newsletter even though you haven’t yet joined Tar Heel
Team Tempo. At least you will receive it during 2009! Click
here
to take 2-3 minutes to complete our membership application. Members
qualify for special benefits throughout the season. If you are
uncertain about whether you have already applied, please sign up again!

Treasurer’s Blog: From Gary Triplett
What
a great first week of the season: Our ladies are off to a 3-0 start
and congratulations to Jo Yvars, who chairs the Events Committee, for an
incredible away-game viewing party at Time-Out.
Tar
Heel Team Tempo’s steering committee continues to work on securing
tax-deductible status for our emerging organization. We thank you for
your patience as we fulfill the accounting and legal requirements to be
what you want us to be! Getting there requires $560 in cash and a few
volunteer hours. Once again, we ask for your assistance to sponsor this
process. If you are able to contribute, please send your donation to:
