Join
our Holiday Party at Time Out Sports Bar in the Holiday Inn on the
15-501 Bypass near Eastgate.
Plan to arrive
by 12:30 to lunch at Time Out Sports Bar and Restaurant in the
Holiday Inn before the party. Although owner (and fellow Tar Heel Team
Tempo member) Eddie Williams will offer us a sandwich platter buffet,
you can also order from the menu.
All UNC fans
are welcome, not just members of Tar Heel Team Tempo. Bring the kids!
This may be their best opportunity for some “quality time” with Santa.
Santa will
arrive to start the festivities at 1:00 PM in the Banquet Room of the
Holiday Inn.
As a dear
friend of Coach Hatchell, Santa is graciously donating his time to us
for our entertainment. However we understand that he always seeks
toys
for needy children at his other events. So please be one of Santa’s
helpers by bringing an unwrapped toy for a needy child in his
church outreach program. If you don't have time to shop, Santa will
gratefully accept a donation.
Help
us give the gift of appreciation! Sign your name and best wishes to the
signature sheet for our holiday cards for each coach, player, manager,
in the UNC WBB program!
Although Tar
Heel Team Tempo photographers will attend the party, please feel free to
bring your own camera. We will post our photos on our web site for your
enjoyment next week.
Our event ends
at 2 PM so we have plenty of time to get to the Smith Center for the 3
PM tip-off against Gardner Webb.
Last week we
sent an "e-vite" invitation for the Holiday Party to all our e-mail
addresses. If you did not receive one, check your spam or bulk mail
file. To receive our future announcements and invitations through
evite.com, please add "info@mailva.evite.com"
to your safe list and check that
"info@mailva.evite.com"
is NOT on your blocked users list.

yet informed us that you will attend, click

UNC falls to Michigan State on December 8th
Even
the advantage gained by holding their star player to 2 minutes in the
first half did not allow our women to overcome Michigan State in their
Big 10/ACC Challenge match. Turnovers were a major part of the game
with Michigan State losing the ball 27 times, UNC 24. Click

UNC overcomes St. John’s December 6th in what might be the
longest basketball event in UNC history!
Fans were treated (?) to
a truly unusual event at 7:00 PM on Tuesday night when UNC faced the
undefeated Red Storm from Queens, NY. A mysterious failure of the shot
clock caused a 30 minute game delay which allowed the players to rest,
drat!
Scout.com pointed out
that 49 fouls between both teams is more than one foul per minute. The
fouls and the clock issues made for a very long game. UNC did win the
boards.

From the UNC Women’s Basketball Office
“On Monday, nineteen Tar
Heel Team Tempo members met at the UNC Women's Basketball Office to help
mail over 3,000 items! We sorted, stuffed, and sealed envelopes to help
Coach Hatchell's staff accomplish a four day job in only one and a half
days. Coach Hatchell dropped in and expressed her profound thanks to
us. Lunch was also provided. Everyone had a
ball,
with lots of
talk and laughter and teasing,
and the participants encourage all TT members to respond to upcoming
requests for help at the women's basketball office.” Joy Farley.
Thanks to Paul Baschon, Sara Baschon, Mary Bobbitt, Ed Burt, Joy Farley,
Judy Gurlitz, Barbara Hamlet, Jim Harllee, Jo Ann Harllee, Courtney
Jackson, Rella Jackson, Gail Jacobs, Ann Jones, Billie Jones, Dolly
Ladd, Bill Poteat, Beth Smith, Barbara Stickford, Bob Ward, and Jo Yvars
for their efforts on Monday. On Tuesday Courtney Jackson, Rella
Jackson, Dolly Ladd, and Bob Ward returned to assist newcomers Laurie
Ferris, Margaret Hutchins, Wendy Hutchins, and Nancy Zeman in finishing
the job three hours early! These Tar Heel Team Tempo members donated
over 120 volunteer hours to the UNC Women’s Basketball Program to help
promote the program! |

Treasurer’s Blog: From Chip
Hutchins
Tar
Heel Team Tempo’s Steering Committee continues to work on securing
tax-deductible status for our emerging organization. We thank you for
your patience as we fulfill the accounting and legal requirements to be
what you want us to be! Getting there requires $560 in cash and a few
volunteer hours. Once again, we ask for your assistance to sponsor this
process. If you are able to contribute, please send your donation to:

Events Committee Whooops!
Last
week we attempted to email you an invitation to our December 13th
Holiday Party so Time Out, Santa, and THTT could prepare for the event.
We tried to use gmail first but gmail could not handle the load, so we
returned to evite! Please “do what you do” to allow evite.com to
send messages to your email address for future event announcements! One
is scheduled soon!
Tar
Heel Team Tempo’s policy is to minimize our email contact with you as we
forward you the latest information we receive about the UNC Women’s
Basketball program. We apologize for the inconvenience of last week’s
multiple emails and appreciate your understanding. |
