Tar Heels fall to Virginia Tech in first ACC road game, 79-64
The
Tar Heels first ACC road game of the year did not end well. Following
the loss at UCONN, UNC continued to struggle shooting the ball in
Blacksburg despite 13 points from Chay Shegog. Read the UNCAA recap

Tar Heels return home to handle the Terrapins, 75-64
Chay Shegog is the leading
UNC scorer for the 2nd game in a row but Italee Lucas also
scored double figures to lead the Tar Heels in a win over Maryland!!
Stronger defense, less turnovers, more passes inside, and, of course,
the home court crowd helped propel the win. Read the UNCAA recap
here,
Lauren Brownlow's “Making Leaders” insight
here,
and two articles in the Daily Tar Heel
here
and
here.

during the National Anthem. This is in accordance with the US Flag Code
for a proper salute when not in military uniform. Please join the team
in this salute. Click

·
Please stand,
clap, and cheer for the UNC player introductions and continue through
the first basket scored by our team.
·
Please stand,
clap, and cheer at the beginning of the second half until the first
basket is scored by our team.
·
At the end of
the game after they sing the UNC Alma Mater, the players will run a
victory lap thanking the fans for their support. Kids (young and not so
young) are welcome to approach the rail to slap hands as they run past.

Ever
had a question on how the game is played or why our team reacts to a
certain game event? Click
here
to send us your question to be answered during Coach Hatchell's weekly
radio show. The first few weeks have been so full of good information
that there has not been time for questions. Coach Hatchell did stay
after the show this week and answer several questions from the
audience.
As
this fan remembers it:
Q: How much of an impact does game
performance have on academics?
Coach:
That is a question for Jan Boxill, our spectacular academic adviser.
Jan:
A lot. Academic performance affects game performance and game
performance affects academics. We had a study hall the day after the MD
win that went very well.
Q: What is the rule about coaches on
the court during play?
Coach:
They shouldn't be there. The referees need to run up the sideline and
should not run into a coach. The referees always warn the coach to stay
in the coach’s box and off the court.
