TEAM TALK

Tar Heels fall to Miami, 80-69

The Tar Heels had their third conference loss and second loss in a row in Miami despite winning the boards 61-36.  Unfortunately, Italee was held to 9 points and Cetera only managed 6 points.  The future is bright though: the freshman had 35 of the Tar Heel's 69 points and 29 of the 61 rebounds.

Read the UNCAA recap here and the Daily Tar Heel article here.  The recap was also picked up by the News and Observer here and ESPN here.

Tar Heels fall to Duke, 79-51

The Tar Heels were as close as 9 at the half and then within 11 mid way through the second half before Duke walked away with a big win.  Plagued with turnovers but mostly just out rebounded, Coach Hatchell suggested training against the football team in order to learn “to put bodies on people”.

Read the UNCAA recap here and the Daily Tar Heel articles here and here.  The News and Observer has two articles here and here as well as photo galleries here and here. The ESPN article and post game video is available here.

There were also several articles of interest prior to the game.  Mechelle Vopell, blogger for ESPN, wrote “UNC-Duke meeting lacking some of usual luster”.  Read that article here. The other two both focus on Italee Lucas and Cetera DeGraffenreid.  One is from the Daily Tar Heel here and the other from the News and Observer here

TEMPO TALK

From the Chairman

The last week has been a very difficult one for our UNC Women’s Basketball Team. They are currently on a three-game losing streak and horror of horrors, coming off a loss to our arch-rival, Duke.

This is the time for members of Tar Heel Team Tempo to stand tall in their support of the team. This is the time that we can make a difference, do your part by clapping loudly until the first basket of each half is scored and then be loud until the final horn. This is the time to bring a friend and introduce them to UNC Women’s Basketball. This is the time to show the team, the staff and Coach Hatchell how much we appreciate them and all of their hard work. Carmichael needs to be FULL with EXCITED, ENERGIZED fans on Thursday night. I expect to see you there.
