Saturday, March 20, 2010, 10:30pm
EDT (with radio pregame at 10pm!)
North
Carolina Tar Heels were invited as a #10 seed and travel west for the
NCAA Tournament. Their first stop is Seattle, WA to take on the #7 seed
Gonzaga. Game time is about 10:30pm Eastern time and the game will be
carried on ESPN2. ESPN2 HD will most likely cover all four 10:30 games
moving to the “most interesting” at any time. ESPN2 (standard
definition) should continue to show the “home region” game in its
entirely. The winner plays again in Seattle on Monday.
Want
to watch with friends? Eddie Williams of Time Out in Chapel Hill, says
he will be sure that at least one TV in the block of screens in
front of dining tables will be tuned into the Tar Heel game. The men's
NCAA games are scheduled to be over by 10pm so more than one tv is
probable.
Want to listen? Brad Heller and Jan Boxill provide radio coverage on the
Tar Heel Sports Network. Radio coverage will start at 10pm with a
pregame show and will be on WCHL-AM 1360 in Chapel Hill. Click
here
for other radio affiliates. The broadcast should also be streamed on
the internet. Click
here
to go to the main UNCAA website then scroll to the bottom and look for
the game information in the calendar and click on the speaker icon. The
icon may not be visible before Saturday afternoon.
Going to Seattle? Watch for team sendoffs from the Crown Plaza Hotel
before the game. |

TEMPO TALK |
|
|
|
From the Chairman
To the Tar Heel Team Tempo
Family,
March Madness has arrived
and our Tar Heels are in the NCAA Tournament. They are scheduled to
play Saturday night at 10:30am eastern time against the Gonzaga
Bulldogs. If you are able to make the trip to Seattle, Washington, I
encourage you to go and support our Heels.
I would also like to remind
everyone that the Annual Meeting of Tar Heel Team Tempo will take place
at Coach Hatchell's home on April 20th. We will be sending everyone
additional details as the date approaches, but I need all of you to be
aware of the important business of the organization scheduled to occur
that day.
The first formal elections
for positions on our Board of Directors will be held at our Annual
Meeting. This year we will be voting for individuals to fill all nine
seats on the Board. Three of those elected will serve 3-year terms.
Three will serve 2-year terms and three will serve 1-year terms. In
that way, three seats, on a rotating basis, will become available each
year going forward. According to our proposed
By-laws, those elected
individuals will then determine officers and committee chairs.
Up to now the business of
the organization has been managed by a group of volunteers, serving as
a Steering Committee. We have grown to nearly 500 members, established a
cooperative working relationship with the UNC Athletic Department, and,
through a variety of programs encouraged increasing numbers of people to
support women's basketball. Much has been done; there is much more to
do. We want to fill Carmichael for every game.
Also, we will be voting on
final approval of the By-Laws, which can be found
here,
Please take a moment to review them prior to the Annual Meeting. I look
forward to seeing all of you there.
Until next time, Go Heels!
Gary Triplett, President
Tar Heel Team Tempo, Inc. |

meeting and potluck on April 20th, Tar Heel Team Tempo members will have
the opportunity to vote on acceptance of our proposed By-Laws as
recommended by the Steering Committee this year. Read the proposed
By-Laws
here.
Note that there is a link at the top of the page for a printable PDF
version as well as a link to email your comments to the Steering
Committee. |
