From Martina
Wood as she retires from active duty:
“To our fans
and supporters:
This year our
fans have been very consistent and steadily growing. I have loved
looking into the stands seeing both old and new faces all year long.
It means the world to have you at every single game. Even during
our losses this year, your words of encouragement to “Hold your
heads high” or “Keep fighting” were often all it took to lift our
heads and inspire us to still try to play our hearts out.
You guys make a difference and you are vital to this team. I salute
and honor each one of you for your love and dedication to this team
and this program.
You are one in
a million to me and I thank you for all you have done to make my
time here special and unforgettable.” |

Tar Heel Team Tempo Annual Meeting and Potluck dinner
From
our President:
“The
Annual Meeting of Tar Heel Team Tempo is scheduled at 5:30 PM at Coach
Hatchell’s home on April 20th. If you have not already
signed up to attend, I cannot encourage you strongly enough to do so.
The organization will be conducting business that will shape our future
success and your participation in that process is important.
Feel
free to review the annual reports from each of our committees by
clicking
here.
The
first formal elections for positions on our Board of Directors will be
held at our Annual Meeting. This year we will be voting for
individuals to fill all nine seats on the Board. Three of those
elected will serve 3-year terms. Three will serve 2-year terms and
three will serve 1-year terms. In that way, on a rotating basis three
seats will become available each year going forward. According to our
proposed By-Laws, those elected individuals will then elect officers and
committee chairs.

Up to
now the business of the organization has been managed by a group of
volunteers, serving as a Steering Committee. We have grown to more than
400 members, hosted social events for all fans, established a
cooperative working relationship with the UNC Athletic Department, and
encouraged increasing numbers of people to support women’s basketball.
Much has been done; there is much more to do.
Also
we will be voting on final approval of the By-Laws, which can be found
here. Please take a moment to review them prior to the Annual
Meeting.
We
understand that people attend sporting events to enjoy them. Help us
enhance your experience and then help us tell the surrounding
community. We want to fill Carmichael for every game. We want to
participate in the fun and energy! Count us as Coach Hatchell’s 6th
player!
I
look forward to seeing all of you there. Until next time, Go Heels!”

Executive Committee
Over
one hundred THTT members attended last night’s 2010 Annual Women’s
Basketball Banquet, one third of the crowd! For those of you who
missed the banquet last night, you missed a wonderful, delicious, and
eventful evening.
I am
proud to report that Tar Heel Team Tempo made quite an impression this
season. Coach Hatchell was effusive in her praise of our organization
during her remarks. Additionally, THTT was recognized as her 2009-2010
Volunteers of the Year. The award was a result all of the hard work and
sacrifice that we contributed to the Women’s Basketball Program.
It
was an honor for me to accept the award as President and I owe each of
you a debt of gratitude for that opportunity.

Triplett, President |

Join
Tar Heel Team Tempo’s photography project. We need colorful additions
for our web site, this e-newsletter, and thank you’s for our
volunteers. Our project leader will recruit photographers (amateurs do
fine) and schedule them for half of each home game, THTT social events,
and WBB events. We also need to create a photography depository central
for all users with a cataloging system using keywords for date, type
event, and player. Discover the excitement within Tar Heel Team Tempo
by working on this exciting project. Click
