Fan Survey Still Open
It’s the time of year to reflect on the factors that
attract fans to UNC Women’s Basketball! In May, Team Tempo sent a request to
complete a short survey identifying your experience as a UNC Women’s
Basketball fan. There is still time to complete the survey – just click
here.
In late summer, we will present the results of this survey to our members,
the UNC Women’s Basketball staff, and UNCAA. Thank you in advance for five
minutes of your time to participate in this study. |
Wow! Perfect Attendance!
One question in the Fan Survey asks how many home games
you attended this past season. A number of people have attended ALL HOME
GAMES. Team Tempo would like to recognize those individuals and share those
names with the team. However, the survey was anonymous so we do not know who
you are. Please tell us if you attended ALL home games in the 2009-2010
season. Click
here to send an email to Team Tempo.

A Message from the President of Tar Heel Team Tempo
To the Tar Heel Team Tempo Family,
| First of all, I would like
to thank each of you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your
President. Last season was a tremendous success for our organization and
I look forward to building upon that success in the coming year. |

During the 1st
Annual Meeting of Tar Heel Team Tempo on April 20, 2010, the
accomplishments of the past season were reviewed and the goals for the
upcoming season were set. The Board of Directors elected that evening
has already begun the hard work of achieving those goals. We are working
on a new, dynamic website for your organization. We are working on ways
to increase awareness of the UNC Women’s Basketball Program and grow
attendance at their games. The only way that we will be successful in
achieving the organizational goals is with your assistance. We need
volunteers to work on each of our committees. We need your support
financially. Please feel free to contact me directly if you are
interested in assisting in any way. My email address is
president@tarheelteamtempo.com. Sadly, it is
my responsibility to report the resignation of one of the newly elected
Board members, Rusty Edmister. Although he is unable to continue his
service on the Board, he has agreed to volunteer as much time as
possible to our organization. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I
would like to extend our appreciation for all of his efforts. |

Until next time, have a great summer!
Go Heels!

From the Membership Committee Chair
As a new member, I am impressed with the commitment and
amount of work put forth by the Board to support UNC Women's Basketball. We
have incorporated and worked to secure non-profit status. We have generated
reports on the efforts of the other top women's basketball programs to
generate interest and increase attendance; we have created marketing tools
such as the Team Tempo buttons. If any of you have ever worked on an
organization's newsletter, you know how much work has been put into the
"Blast". To date we have recruited over 400 members.
However, no matter how hard a few people on the Board work, the success of
Team Tempo is directly related to the commitment of many volunteers outside
the Board and to the size of Team Tempo's membership. The basketball team
needs you to be involved. We need you to participate in marketing and
recruitment of new members even if it is only to openly display your
enthusiasm for women's basketball. Please invite one neighbor or friend to
sign up as a Team Tempo member or to attend one game. I would like to see
the membership exceed 1500. Then the "Blast", the membership survey, and
other information will be reaching enough people to significantly impact
interest in the basketball team.
The Membership Committee needs a dozen or more volunteers who are willing to
make a difference. This is an opportunity for participation that matters.
Many may be able to contribute only an hour a month; some will want to
contribute more. All can contribute ideas or critique proposals. Those who
volunteer can "meet" via email or perhaps we can identify a centrally
located meeting place for one or two meetings before next season. If you
wish to join us in this effort or to learn more about the Membership
Committee, email Ed Burt at
eburt@nc.rr.com or click
here.
