We arrive at Cabo
Morayra before the local boaters have lifted their anchors to return to the
adjacent harbor. So we weave our way between the boats to anchor in 6
meters over sand. Jackie pulls out all the left-over dinners from the
past week and we feast on "a little of this and a lot of that."
Afterwards we watch "Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to live the bomb" only
to return to the deck at 2100 to discover all the motorboats gone and the
sun still shining! This idyllic setting reminds us of our times at
Cape Lookout in North Carolina. |

Our stay in Torreviega
exceeds our expectations. We enjoy watching the local dinghy races in
the afternoon and the sculling practices early morning and evening. After
our usual relaxed coffee time, we depart at 0900 for passages NE, directly
into the little wind available. It is a quiet day and we motor along
until 1600 when we raise the jib to assist the motor. Costa Blanco is
dramatic: sheer cliffs and incredible buildings line the coast.
We are amazed that the coastal construction has extended this far north of
the Costa del Sol. |
