Location:

 39°47.80 N  02°41.60 E

Anchorages:

Inner Harbor:  East of town moorings such that commercial traffic, fishing boats and ferries, are not impeded.  Holding is iffy since the harbor is churned with many boats anchoring for short periods of time.  Moorings are unknown entities.

Marinas:

Port Captain's office is underneath the Sa Llotja Restaurant in middle of ferry quay;  anchor and go ashore to request a berth in the crowded dock

Cruiser Amenities:

bulletDinghy dock:  use tips of small fishing boat floating docks to the right of the ferry docks
bulletTown garbage cans near ferries to Cala Calobra

Transportation:

bulletTram from port to train station in  town of Soller every half hour on the half hour;  2 €
bulletScenic tourist train from Soller to Palma, five times daily, 6.50 €
bulletBus to Palma via town of Soller, 2.10 €
bulletOther buses to Pollensa and Valldemossa for day trips
bulletTaxis to most island destinations;  prices at taxi stand
bulletCar Rental:  Europcar and four others

Provisions:

There are four small supermarkets in the port which provide better selection than taking the bus to Soller to shop at Eroski's.  Overall, limited provisioning compared to Andratx.

Attractions:

Soller is the northern harbor of refuge from bad weather.  The anchorage is crowded.  The port is touted as a good day trip from Palma and tour buses arrive all morning so that visitors can sun on the beach and eat in the restaurants.  More beach shops than we have seen to date in Europe with massive daytime promenades of "day-trippers."

Sunsets over the harbor entrance are spectacular and evenings are great after the hoards of tourists are bused back to wherever they came from.

Internet Access: None in the port that I could find;  take bus to Soller and seek out Western Union location for terminal access but you are not allowed to use your own laptop

Shops:

In the town of Soller across and down from the train station, investigate olive wood carving boards, wooden cutlery, Mallorcan pearls, olive wood jewelry at Eugenio, Jeronimo Estades, 11-A, 971-630-984;  most reasonable prices to date

In the port of Soller, across from Lua Restaurant up the side street next to the supermarket, is Casa de Santa Catalina, 971-631-193, owned by Marie Robinet and featuring her hand crafted batiks, pareos,  jewelry;  avoid the tourist scam by shopping here
