Cascais

A small, upscale port which is also a suburb of Lisbon, Cascais ("Kash-Ky-ish") reminded Chris and Jackie Lambertsen of a blend Fort Lauderdale, Beverly Hills, and Beaufort NC.  Many sidewalk restaurants and shops for the rich and famous.  Easy connections to Sintra, the summer playground of the Portuguese royalty until 1910, and Lisbon, Portugal's capital city.  Based on our need to anchor when possible, this port provided us with everything we needed and wanted.  We spent our last three days in the marina due to inclement weather including 35 knot winds and high seas which bombarded the boat even in the harbor!

SHIBUMI is the final mark on a local Saturday sailboat race.  We are bombarded by 20-30 boats coming around our stern as they douse their sails.

On Sunday, the racers have fog and no wind...and no radar.  They depart for home anyway.
