 Our friends
Havier and Carmen drive us to visit a bodega. |
 The bodega
is the home and factory of local wine producers. |
 Grapes
are grown on granite supports to keep them from rotting on the ground.
Valuable during the growing season; hard on the back in harvesting
season. |
 Carmen
reviews the display of Monte Sacro products. |
 The acres
and acres of wine fields support other life too.
Proper fertilizer is always used. |
 Note the
granite supports; these fields take years to create and also last for
decades! |
 Carmen
selects a product to sample. |
 The
producer pours a small sample for each of us to taste; we make our
selection to purchase. |
 We then
tour the bodega and learn how the wine is aged. |
 Note the
modern stainless steel vats and controls. Other sites used traditional
oak and all had a "secret" nomenclature to describe the wine, year and
quality. |
 When it is
ready, the wine is bottled. |
 The last
step is to insert the cork! |
